Determination of Multi-Class Antibiotics Residues in Farmed Fish and Shrimp from Sri Lanka by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS)

Antibiotics have been used to control the aquatic environment in both therapeutic and prophylactic ways. are particularly difficult extract due their strong interactions with biological matrices. In this study, UPLC-MS/MS method was developed validated for quantitative confirmatory analysis of multi-class antibiotics residues fish shrimp. Fourteen belonging sulphonamides, β-lactams, quinolones, sulfones macrolides were determined within one chromatographic run. The samples suspended 0.1 M HCl, analytes extracted into ethyl acetate. extracts defatted cyclohexane. limits quantification (LOQ) ranged from 0.24 1.32 µg kg−1 0.42–1.62 shrimp samples. recoveries 75 105%. applied farmed freshwater Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) (Penaeus monodon) collected Sri Lanka.
